Gambia: BREAKING NEWS: Barrow’s Government is Set TO Sign A Contract With Vodafone in Partnership with a Turkish Company (ArribaCom Limited) for the GAMTEL Gateway

Dear Mr. Mbai,

The Barrow government is in serious negotiations  with a Turkish company, ArribaCom Limited, in joint partnership with Vadofone Group Services Ltd, a UK based company, to manage the GAMTEL Gateway project without any formalized international tendering process thus violating one of the key requirements of GPPA  and the Public Finance Act. Under the directives of the Ministry of Finance (Mamburay Njie for that matter), GAMTEL/GAMCEL have been instructed to single source and finalize the contract negotiations with ArribaCom/ Vodafone with immediate effect.
It would be recalled that this controversial Gateway project was first awarded to MGI though a properly constituted Task Force to be the independent Gateway keeper at a cost of $5 million, a deal that was almost closed when the former finance minister Amadou Sanneh intervened to cancel it and instead awarded the contract directly to SIGOS whose bid was in excess of $7 million; two million US Dollars more than the MGI offer. This prompted a protest letter written to MOFEA by the former Information and Communications minister, Mr. Demba Jawo, which raised some legitimately pertinent issues about the whole deal, and no doubt cost him his ministerial job.
Now come the cunning fox, Mamburay Njie, who is skillful in legitimizing illegal deals for his
bosses. Everything about this deal is shrouded in mystery but we are ready to expose all types pf corruption in this new Gambia. That is only way to fight this cancer that is destroying our lives. The public need to know EVERYTHING.
A Concerned Gambian
