Angry UDP supporters today thronged the home of Suku Singhateh, where they assembled trucks to collect what they called “the party’s belongings” that were entrusted to Mr. Singhateh for safekeeping, Freedom Newspaper can report. Office equipment and other valuables could be seen being loaded into the trucks. One Mr. Loppy led the UDP team, who were assigned to remove the party’s assets from Suku’s storage. Suku also handed the party’s fundraising tickets.
Mr. Singhateh has parted company with the UDP. This followed his recent participation into an official event that was officiated by President Barrow. He has joined President Barrow’s National People’s Party (NPP).
The UDP supporters entered the property without greeting Suku and his family. What followed later was an inventory of the UDP properties. An inventory was done in the presence of Suku’s family and the UDP delegation.
The old Jeshwang street leading to Suku’s home was filled with cars and trucks. The UDP folks made several trips to Singhateh’s home to collect the party’s properties.
It would be recalled that Mr. Singhateh sent a delegation to the UDP leader Ousainou Darboe on Monday to inform Darboe about his intention to leave the party. The delegation was led by Suku’s elder brother Kebba Singhateh, and Ousman Fatty, the Alkali of Kerewan.
Meanwhile, some UDP supporters have taken to social media to peddle false accusations against Mr. Singhateh. The desperate yellow supporters are now trading false drug trafficking accusations against the popular Badibu politician. They have also been raining insults at Mr. Singhateh.
