President Adama Barrow has stepped up his attacks and ridiculing of the leader of the United Democratic Party (UDP) Ousainou Darboe, Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Mr. Barrow who used to refer to Darboe as his “political Godfather” has now convinced himself that Darboe is not only his political foe, but nemesis. He mocks Darboe during a political rally he addressed over the weekend in KMC. Barrow recalled Darboe’s reaction to his December 2016 electoral victory.  “The political prisoners were desperately in need of freedom; they wanted fresh air so bad to breath on. They have long been held under captivity by Jammeh. I was told that there was this Bai-Faal, who was detained at the mile two prison. His fellow inmates, all of a sudden, heard him singing and reciting some Islamic verses (ZIKARR), following the announcement on state media that Adama Barrow was the winner of the 2016 elections. Some of the prisoners enquired as to why was the Bai-Faal singing (Zikarr), and they were told that Barrow had won the elections,” Barrow jokingly mocks at Lawyer Darboe in the local wollof dialect.

According to Barrow, prisoners at the mile two prison, celebrated his victory for two consecutive days. He says the prisoners even nearly overcame the prison wardens during their victory celebrations.

Barrow says he was the one, who freed Darboe and co from prison.

“Darboe even referred to me, as Prophet Moses. He tried to compare me with Prophet Moses; he says it was prophet Moses, who liberated the people of Israel. He also says I was the prophet Moses of The Gambia,” Barrow remarked.

Barrow also trash talk Darboe by saying that “he can claim to be famous, popular, and educated” but in my book, Darboe, hasn’t done anything in The Gambia that is worthy of celebrations. He says his work will speak for itself rather than bragging or blowing his own trumpet.

“Fann laafi touch,” Barrow remarked in the local Wollof dialect ( meaning in English, what has he done here that is worthy of celebrations).

Barrow also warned troublemakers. He says he wouldn’t be intimidated. He also vowed that any attempts to destabilize The Gambia, wouldn’t be tolerated by his administration.
