In recent weeks, disturbing reports have emerged about an alleged $5 million dollars fertilizer tender process scandal at the Ministry of Agriculture. It has been alleged that the previous tender process, which was won by other unnamed parties had been cancelled. The cancellation was as a result of a serious dispute over the tender process amid alleged reports of outside interference.  Some Gambia Ground Corporation officials Board Members were dismissed, following push and pull over the luxurious contract. “There was a tender of $5 million worth in 2 lots of $2.5 million. The tendered was evaluated and opened in the presence of all bidders. Now the company that the Barrow team favored won only one lot and the other lot was won by another company. Now the PS of Ministry of Agriculture because of pressure from State House has declared the tender null and void,” said a concerned Gambian, who wrote to this medium. The GGC Board was also dissolved henceforth.

What do you think of the impending fertilizer scandal with GGC and the Ministry of Agriculture?

There was a tender of $5 million worth in 2 lots of $2.5 million. The tendered was evaluated and opened in the presence of all bidders.

Now the company that the Barrow team favored won only one lot and the other lot was won by another company.

Now the PS of Ministry of Agriculture because of pressure from State House has declared the tender null and void.

He went further by writing to the board of directors of GGC dismissing them all and dissolved the board.

Now he wrote to GPPA to recommend that the entire $5 million to be given to their favorite company.
